| Disabling "Group Policy" control of Windows Firewall How can I disable "Group Policy" control of my Windows Firewall? I think it's interfering with my ability to set up a workgroup connection. Many thanks in advance. |

Hmmmm. The only time you'd normally see a Windows Firewallcontrolled by group policy, is when you're on a domain ....which makes me curious as to why you mention a workgroup at all. If you *are* on a domain, you likely won't have control over the group policy settings anyway. Stopping the underlying service (if you have local admin rights) would effectively disable the firewall, but I think you might provide a bit more info as to your config and perhaps you can get more help. |
