Problem with the Windows File Open Dialog Box in Windows XP

Problem with the Windows File Open Dialog Box in Windows XP

I have Windows XP SP2 with all the latest patches. I have checked the
newsgroups where in 2006 this problem was believed to be caused by
KB908531 . I have that installed on my machine. However, I presume
that this has been fixed. Even uninstalling that did not help. Here
are a few of the articles related to this problem:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...=en-us&m=1&p=1

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/e...=en-us&m=1&p=1

I don't have any HP product installed on my machine. And no key under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Shell
Extensions\Cached

Any help in this regard will be highly useful.

Regards
Sumit

You say you have a problem ... What is the actual problem?

The problem is that the File Browser takes to much time to open a
folder. It just hangs though there is no CPU activity.
