| Re: Dual monitor only shows 2nd.. not primary I haven't seen that happen before, but... Go back to one monitor. If you get a display, set the resolution down to 800x600 with a refresh rate of 60hz. Try again. It may be that your primary monitor is getting a signal that it can't deal with and to protect itself, disables. www.FreeComputerConsultant.com marinakorp wrote: > HELP!!! > > My dual monitor setup (Gforce 5200) is only allowing for hte display of the > 2nd monitor... not allowing me to get to a welcome screen and entering PW, > etc... > > Ine Monitor is using the VGA and the 2nd is using the DVI connector on the > back of the card > > HOW DO I SWITCH? | Re: Dual monitor only shows 2nd.. not primary THanks for the suggestion... actually the issue was that I can not access the primary at all... meaning tht I can not access the start menu..as it is on the primary display (meaning no where visible) I eventually did fix the issue... I was able to log in to the machine "blindly" and open the Display properties.. and after quite a few tries (blindly) was able to grab the Display properties box and drag it over to the monitor # 2 (visible) and disable dual monitor and re-boot... giving me one hte monitor visible A download of the driver from the vendor cured the issue... but did cause a critical fault to occur - and re-boot hte machine... only happened after the install of the drivers and has not occurred since "FreeComputerConsultant.com" wrote: > I haven't seen that happen before, but... > > Go back to one monitor. > > If you get a display, set the resolution down to 800x600 with a refresh > rate of 60hz. > > Try again. > > It may be that your primary monitor is getting a signal that it can't > deal with and to protect itself, disables. > > www.FreeComputerConsultant.com > > marinakorp wrote: > > HELP!!! > > > > My dual monitor setup (Gforce 5200) is only allowing for hte display of the > > 2nd monitor... not allowing me to get to a welcome screen and entering PW, > > etc... > > > > Ine Monitor is using the VGA and the 2nd is using the DVI connector on the > > back of the card > > > > HOW DO I SWITCH?
