| User logon with Temp profile? I have a winxp sp 2 box on a domain. A user logs into the domain and will occasionally not receive their normal desktop. They receive a default users profile. However when you browse to "C:\Documents and Settings\" folder the only sub-folders that he can access are his domain profile [username] and the temporary created "Temp" profile. Subsequent log offs result in the same desktop. Only rebooting the machine will typically reset the logon account to be the users normal logon profile ie:[username] I am perplexed as to what would be causing the box to use a Temp profile. Roaming profiles are not implemented. User is a Power User.. ie:Domain Users is member of local Power User group. Any ideas as to a solution on how getting it to logon with the same user profile are appreciated. |

It could be trying to run a login script, but have mistakenly placed the login script address in the roaming profile address line. When the user tries to log on, there is no roaming profile to locate, so it creates a temporary one. Check to see if folder redirection is in use. | Re: User logon with Temp profile? Hmm.. User profile looks fine. Besides I am not running Windows logon scripts. Intermittent behavior is the worse to debug. Ill do some more reading. | Re: User logon with Temp profile? Tim, Your user has a corrupt network profile. If you look at the security settings for that user you will probably see they are not listed or have control of this profile. What I do is rename the user's profile on the server, get the user to log on again creating a new profile then if needed set up MS Outlook & copy favorites back. I hope this helps, -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "Tim Fitch" <timlee@nospam.alias> wrote in message news:DA7538AF-2D7E-48A1-837E-0C414F2A3040@microsoft.com... > I have a winxp sp 2 box on a domain.
