search result tabs/windows keep opening on my pc and wont stop. i have no
idea how to stop this happenin. its rendered my comp almost useless, in fact
30+ have opened by the time i wrote this. please help me someone, this is
driving me mad.

the search results page is the one that opens when you press 'start' then
'search'

A Google search for this brings up nothing useful, so let's try some
general troubleshooting.

1. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

2. The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

3. If the computer is really virus/malware-free, then (in the absence of
knowing the answer to The First Question of T-shooting) go into Safe
Mode and try a System Restore to a time when the problem didn't exist.

To get to Safe Mode, repeatedly tap the F8 key as the computer is
starting up. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode.

4. Does the behavior happen in another user account?
