| dual boot two partitions I have a two partitions called "C" and "D" on a160 GB drive. The C drive has WinXP home sp2 installed and it is giving problems. ( Microsoft help has been unable to help me solve the problem. ) Can I install the same Winxp on D and try if that works OK? If it does then I will just format "C" and reinstall other prgms on it. Thanks |

Install the same way you would normally with the installation CD but point the installation to the other partition. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

| RE: dual boot two partitions Since you are going to reinstall Win XP, you can also try doing a "Repair Install" on your C: drive. You may need to uninstall SP2 before you do that (if your CD is pre-SP2). That may fix your problems. The boot files will be C. If you format C, you will have to repair the XP boot. -- Ronald Sommer : |
