| Networked upnp device router icon missing. Hi, i'm running windows XP Professional SP2. I recently bought a router and it works fine etc. I plugged it in and it was detected as a upnp device. It's icon appeared in My Network Places, (I had enabled the icons in "Add/Remove Windows Components"). But just recently, the icon doesn't appear anymore, just the icons for Network setup wizard etc (I have common tasks switched off). I haven't modified any settings in my router's config. I have tried unticking the upnp entry in the "Add/Remove Windows Components" area then ticking it again, and then rebooting etc. It's nothing critical as the router and network function correctly, but it was handy to have the icon to check the router and access it's config. I'm just wondering as to why it may have disappeared, and how I could fix it. Thanks. |
