Automatic Updates, Windows Update, Microsoft Update

Are Automatic Updates, Windows Update, Microsoft Update all the same
thing? This particular PC has a start menu option for Microsoft
Update. When I click it I get the download page but I need to find the
'area' where I can set the option to download but not install.

Thanks,

gtb

Windows Updates and Microsoft Updates are similar, but not exactly the
same. Windows Updates will update only your Windows OS. Microsoft
Updates will update any Microsoft Products (for instance: Office,
Windows Defender, etc). Automatic updates will automatically use
whichever is setup by default (in your case, it sounds like Microsoft
Updates-a better choice)

In order to set the option to download but not install is as follows:

Start, Control Panel, Security Center, Automatic Updates, select radio
button labled "Download updates for me, but let me chose when to
install them"

Have a good day
