| SendTo items in All Users not showing up Virtually none of the items in my "all users" sendto folder show up for me on a right click. OTOH, I've added shortcuts to my personal profile sendto (noting an earlier message about creating a fresh shortcut here vs copying an old one) that DO show up, which is good. I've tested this extensively by adding similar shortcuts (from scratch) to All Users, but none of them seem to show up unless I add it in my personal profile sendto instead. I saw a workaround in one message, something about setting up a common send to folder in the reg, but while that sounds interesting, it doesn't tell me WHY I'm not seeing "all users" items. I even tried the .vb sendto fix file someone here mentioned, but it didn't fix it. I'm an admin on my own winxp pro machine (although not signed in AS admin) so I'm not sure what is happening here. Any thoughts? Elaine Charlottesville, VA |

| Re: SendTo items in All Users not showing up Elaine, Common Send To folder can be established only altering the User Shell Folders / SendTo path in every user profile in the system. Windows XP does not read the contents of "All Users\SendTo" anway. This is the case with All Users\Favorites as well. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "epack" <eppack******.com> wrote in message news:1175101710.249188.288220@y66g2000hsf.googlegr oups.com... | Re: SendTo items in All Users not showing up I mean, you can alter the "SendTo" shell folder path in the registry (under every user account) and point it to All Users\SendTo or any other folder of your choice. Common SendTo + Users's SendTo can be accomplished at the same time. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@XOX.mvps.org> wrote in message news:efhqc1bcHHA.4216@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... Windows XP does notread the contents of "All Users\SendTo" anway. This is the case with All Users\Favorites as well. Oh really? Wasn't aware of that. Then what is the purpose of All Users?? I understand "default user" which is the "model" for new users, right? But based on your comments here, I can't see a real purpose for this. Or is it just the Sendto/Favorites that are not used? I've got stuff in Programs in AU that DO show up, so are those others just there for "structural" purposes? This certainly does make sense in what I'm seeing :) elaine > > -- > Regards, > > Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] > Windows® Troubleshootinghttp://www.winhelponline.com > > "epack" <epp...******.com> wrote in messagenews:1175101710.249188.288220@y66g2000hsf.g ooglegroups.com... > > Virtually none of the items in my "all users" sendto folder show up > for me on a right click.
