How to do emergency bootable CD

Hello,
I have a laptop with Window which I have the licence and CD and also have a
restore CD from the company but don't want to restore because I must get a
copy of my emails.

Question:

How can I make a bootable CD with my PC (Also Windows XP) for my laptop that
doesn't a floppy drive.

Thanks!

Josh

Re: How to do emergency bootable CD

Hello Rock

My laptop doesn't want to logon. When I put the power on, the computer
starts and stops to a menu if I want to start in safe mode or continue to
logon on normal way but the problem is all option then computer has a black
screen without any action. If the escape key press the computer starts
again with the same menu of safe mode. I need to save my email file
before formatting my laptop. I have tried my Windows CD to see if the
computer would start but no lock.

I am wondering if I could put a bootable CD to have access to my email file
and save it on a memory stick.. When my memory stick is connected, the
withness light on it is on which indicates that I should have a good
connection.

that is my problem!

Thanks for taking your time.

Ok that makes it clearer. There are several options here. One is to take
out the hard drive and connect it via an adaptor to a USB port on another
computer and copy the data, or put in an external hard drive case and
connect that by USB. Another option is to create a bootable Bart's PE disk,
boot from that, then copy the data to external USB drive or flash drive.

And another option is Download a bootable Linux distro called Knoppix.
Create a bootable CD from that, boot from it, and copy the data to USB drive
or flash drive, or if the computer has two CD drives, one of which is a
burner, then use the k3b burning program on the Knoppix CD to burn the data
to CD.
