verify service pack 2 install

I have a system I believe is running XP home edition, it is unable to boot,
and I don't know the service pack level on the system.
How can I verify that service pack 2 is installed?
I am able to access the recovery console, but not sure how to identify the
service pack level from there?

Many thanks.

RE: verify service pack 2 install

Hi, I am not able to get into sage mode, safemode stops at agpcpq.sys, I have
come to conclusion that I will need to try a repair install, but want to find
out what service pack is running. Since I can get to the recovery console,
is there a file version that I can check or certain files that are present
that would show that service pack 2 has been installed?
Again I can not boot up, not can I boot up in safe mode.

Thanks for any help.
