| The Directory icon in Entire Network in My Network Places is missing Windows XP Professional SP2 I have a very strange problem. For no apparent reason, the Entire Network directory icon in in My Network Places is missing. I reinstalled SP2. I uninstalled and reinstalled the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Client for Microsoft Networks. None of these procedures corrected the problem. Another strange thing is that the Turn Off Computer dialog reverted back to the old combo list (It says Windows XP Professional in the dialog) instead of the newer 3 button Turn Off Computer dialog. Any help is appreciated. |

| Re: The Directory icon in Entire Network in My Network Places is missing Thanks for the feedback. That corrected the Entire Network situation. Apparently, the User Account somehow was changed. I opened the User Account control. Clicked on "change the way users log on or off". Then checked the "Use the Welcome screen". Why it changed to begin with is still unknown, but at least it is working now. |

Although there is a program called TweakXP, it is a third-party program, and not from Microsoft. You are probably thinking of TweakUI. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |
