Problem with "Services and Controller app has encountered a problem and needs to close

(I hope I'm in the correct newsgroup. Thanks for your patience!)

More information says:

szAppName services.exe szAppVer 5.1.2600.2180 szModName exent.dll
szModVer 5.1.2600.2780 offset 0001baec

I can't find much info on the web about these items.

I've ran CA's antivirus, Windows Defender, Norton Antivirus (web) scan, and
am currently running Spybot & Destroy's scanner.

Where can I go to check things further?

Craig

Contact Comcast support or have a look on their support site for OnDemand,
exent.dll from what I find is linked to Exent Technologies which Comcast uses for
OnDemand.

Or

If you can repair or uninstall/reinstall whatever is used for OnDemand it may
resolve the issue.

Here's what I found so far at Comcast.
http://gamesoduser.comcast.net/general/105/faq.jsp

And I see they are affiliated with many more companies, so if yours isn't Comcast.
From: http://www.exent.com/products_and_se...experience.asp

Among the landmark companies utilizing Exent technology are Comcast, Verizon,
Intel, Turner Broadcasting, Bell Canada, RCN, Deutsche Telecom (T-Online), Telefonica
(Terra), France Telecom (Wanadoo), Portugal Telecom (Sapo), KPN, Telenet (Belgium),
Telstra (Australia) and HiNet (Taiwan).

Exent is also proud of its relationships with leading publishers, among them
Electronic Arts, Activision, Microsoft Game Studios, Vivendi Universal Games, Take2,
THQ, Atari, Eidos, UbiSoft, Strategy First, Scholastic, Oberon and others.

It does help to have the correct name for the file in an error message.

Thanks, Rock.

These led me to re-creting the local Group Policy file. I hope that does
it!
