| WinXP Home Login Problem Windows XP Home edition plus all current updates has a peculiar problem when logging into an administrator account. The Scenario is, log into an Administrator account after startup. Log out and select any account and attempt to login again. This can be the same administrator account or any other account available. On attempting to login, the cursor is not displayed in the password box and any password characters typed do not show in the password box. The problem appears to be a loss of focus on the selected account password box. A workaround does appear to exist as logging into a limited account with no password followed by an immediate logout restores the focus and the appropriate account password can then be entered. I have seen this problem on more than one PC running the same software. I am guessing, but I think one of the updates may be responsible for this problem. Has anybody else seen this problem and can anyone confirm that the problem is a specifc to one or more updates to WinXP Home? |
