Microsoft updates

My PC is set up to automatically download Microsoft updates, recently an
update named Malicious software removal tool has been downloaded as one of
these updates, tohugh when installed i loose my BT broadband connection and
have to restore my PC to an earlier date to reset things. Why is this
happening and what can i do to stop it.

Re: Microsoft updates

When it says Updates are ready to be installed, click the CUSTOM button,
uncheck "Malicious Removal Tools, and then, when asked, click "Don't
notify me again."
