I go to Windows Update site, tells me I need to install SP2 so I click the
link and it immediately goes from downloading to installation fails. It
doesn't give me more info then that and it doesn't record anything in the
event viewer.

I have run a virus scan and spyware scan, both report clean. Any thoughts?

SP2 for what? WindowsXP,2003 or Office 2003 or what. Cannot tell since you are posting Via CDO.
