You can't tweak a dial-up connection enough to make any difference in on-line games (short of going from a 14.4K modem to a 56K). -- HTH, Curt Windows Support Center http://aumha.org/ "Networking News" <ntwrkstudy******.com> wrote in message news:1173182680.313151.301400@c51g2000cwc.googlegr oups.com... > Speeding up Dial-Up Networking for Games > To reduce lag on a dial-up connection, ie: for multiplayer network > games: > 1. Probably by adjusting some default-misconfigured networking parameters like Default MTU and MSS, TCP Window, activating PMTUD, SACK, ... but I'd rather choose a tool which is competent on doing so (like TCP Optimizer from speedguide.net), or do it manually. Indeed, a well-tuned connection cannot be speeded up any further. |
