I am trying to install Windows XP 64bit onto an IBM Intellistaton Z
Pro series (9228-MC1) model. This hardware fully supports XP 64bit,
IBM site clearly states this. Unfortunetely, the machines I got came
with 32bit Windows, so the drivers on that image are not helpful.

In order for the OS to recognize the audio device hardware, this
machine requires that Microsoft High Definition patch to be installed.

I have dealt with this before about a year ago when I was building a
company image for Windows XP 32bit for the IBM M52 model. At that
time, I found out that Microsoft does NOT make available this patch,
you have to get it from the hardware manufacturer. So back then I
called IBM, and after being transfered all over the place, I got
somebody who sent me the patch. It was MS;s KB888111.

Worked great, and all was great.

Well, now I have the same situation with these IBM Intellistation Z
Pro machines. I tried installing the KB888111 patch I had from last
year, but it did not install.

It seems to me that I need a 64bit version of this high definition
audio patch, but IBM is being completely unhelpful. I have been
transferred to multiple departments, all of which do not want to help
me, or simply cannot even understand my request.

Anybody where I can obtain this file so I can finally get the audio to
work on this machine?
