| Secondary Monitor shows desktop only When I connect my laptop to my new Sylvania Plasma monitor as the secondary monitor, only my desktop image shows up. The only exception is that when I played a DVD in the DVD player of my laptop, the image was fine. But otherwise, the secondary monitor shows the desktop image only. Both monitors show up when I look at Display Properties/Settings and in the Display box, I have selected 1. (Multiple Monitors) on NVIDIA GeForce 4 420 Go 32M. How can I get my secondary monitor working correctly? |

| Re: Secondary Monitor shows desktop only You need to have the nVidia software loaded. You can then choose how you want to utilize the 2nd monitor in the nVidia control panel - I use the DualView option and enable multiple desktops www.FreeComputerConsultant.com ralft@hal-pc.org wrote: > When I connect my laptop to my new Sylvania Plasma monitor as the > secondary monitor, only my desktop image shows up. I did succeed in getting the NVIDIA control panel although it does not include the Display, Games, Video & Television sections. All it offers is Performance and System Stability sections. So, how and/or where should I get the control panel which provides the DualView option?? |

| Re: Secondary Monitor shows desktop only I solved my own problem using a tip provided by a helpful Best Buy "Geek Squad" member. All I needed to do was to press the Fn and F4 keys simultaneously.
