Just out of curiosity - how long was Windows XP out before Vista was
officially released??

Seems to me that it had one of the shortest lifespans of any of the
MS's operating system or am I wrong??

I would venture a guess that Windows ME had the shortest lifespan of any MS
OS that was pushed to the public. Somewhere around 2 years.

It was released in October of 2001.

That OS was released SOLELY as a stopgap/money-maker for MS pending
the release of XP.
