ai, I have XP PRO installed & when I attempt to download the service pack 2 I
get halfway through the installation process & then a POP UP appears saying
"access denied" & then it proceeds to uninstall what has been downloaded. Can
anybody help?

First I would ask if the account you are logging in as has local admin rights
