| Dual monitor setup on laptop -- Desktop scrambled when laptop undo I have an IBM ThinkPad T43 with an ATI Mobility Radeon X300 running Windows Pro XP SP2. It handles both the internal screen and my standalone LCD monitor just fine. However, when I travel with the laptop by itself, Windows throws all the desktop icons into rows on the left of the internal screen, completely scrambling my arrangement. When I later redock the laptop, the desktop icons remain scrambled (even if I haven't moved or added any new ones). I've been careful not to place any icons outside the viewing area of the laptop (set to 1024 X 768), and have not selected Arrange Icons By Name-Size-etc., nor have I selected Auto Arrange. I do have Align to Grid selected, because otherwise things get sloppy real fast in daily use. I'd like some way to retain the arrangement of desktop icons between docked and undocked states (especially since I doesn't seem that Windows *needs* to change them at all!) Any suggestions? TIA |

| RE: Dual monitor setup on laptop -- Desktop scrambled when laptop Sorry, Nope. There's nothing there about the behavior of desktop icons in single-monitor vs dual-monitor views. Thanks anyway.
