| question about start menu program folder I'm trying to clean up my start menu. My programs are start menu programs are split between two places: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs (where username is, of course, my own username. This causes problem when I'm trying to consolidate everything in my start menu into fewer folders. I'm wondering if there would be any problems if I just consolidated these two folders (i.e., copied everything from one into the other). If I do this, does it matter which folder I use to copy everything into? By the way, I am the only user on my computer so there is no issue about messing up different user accounts. Thanks |

No it doesn't matter since you are the only user. The rule is simple. If it's in all users it appears for everyone. If on <Username> it appears only when that user is logged in. Note, there is a second user account, the built in Administrator account. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

| RE: question about start menu program folder Try Tidy Start Menu, a stripped down shareware. It'll clean up all of the folders and links into categorized folders. -- GMMan Current version: Windows XP Home Edition With Service Pack 2 Current model: Dell Dimension 4600 Desktop "bdr122" wrote: > I'm trying to clean up my start menu.
