They seem to be scratch folders which were created and used during an update. They don't bother anything so I have left them alone. You will not see the security tab if you are using simple file sharing. Jim |

Go to Control Panel and double click Folder Options. In Folder Options, click on the View tab. In the Advanced Settings box, scroll down to the bottom of the list. Remove the check mark from the box next to "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)". If you're running XP Home Edition, you'll have to restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode in order to access the Security tab on the folder's Properties sheet. Now, when you right click that folder you should see a Security tab. If you're unable to give yourself Full Control Permissions, you may have to take ownership of the folder. | RE: Only for Xp experts - strange win folder I don't know about this folder much but I have seen this folder on my PC sometimes. The Security tab you are looking for to set the premission is not available by default in Windows XP Professional. You need to configure one setting to make it available. 1. Open My Computer 2. Click Tools - Folder Option 3. Click View tab. 4. In the end of the option list, unchech "Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended) option. This will enable the "Security" tab in Properties box. Hope this help, let us know!
