| Computer displays string of letters on all open documents For some reason, my computer will spontaneously begin to "type" on all my open documents. It is typically one letter that will not stop until I close the application. It types in Word, Excel, in the Search area at the top of IE. Pretty much everywhere. I thought it might be a keyboard issues so I totally swapped out my keyboard and mouse. It still does it and at random times. When I reboot, it is ok for awhile then shows up again. Anyone ever heard of this? How do I stop it short of tossing my computer out the window? Thank you! |

This is a peer to peer newsgroup with volunteers from all over. It can take 24-48 hrs for someone who might have a resolution to see the post and reply. You need to be patient. If you want immediate help call the tech support for the computer or some other phone support. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |

I didn't realize the first one had posted. I thought I had gotten rid of it. I redid it because I didn't like the heading. When I saw it on the board I didn't know how to get rid of it. I am really sorry about that. I didn't mean to bog down the system. Betty |

I didn't mean to bog down the system. Betty No problem Betty, I was just trying to point out something you might not have been aware of. When you changed the subject line to a more urgent one - Sleuth 911, it suggested an increased urgency. I see you got a resolution to your strange problem, lol, we get this one posted from time to time so you're not the first and won't be the last. If you have occasion to post here again, and can't find a previous post the best way to hunt it down is to use Google Groups Advanced Search: http://groups.google.com/advanced_se...e=UTF-8&hl=en& You can search in a specific newsgroup and filter the search by author, keywords, subject and date. Last tip, you posted using the web interface. That interface is just plain lousy. A newsreader is a much better way to access what are actually Usenet newsgroups, not discussion forums. XP comes with outlook express which can be set up for newsgroup access. Here is a link on how to set it up. You will find it a much better way to access newsgroup. Drop in here, read some of the threads and post if you have an answer to help someone out. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/ou...snewreader.htm -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell] |
