| Background colors don't show in browsers When I view a web page in any browser, be it Firefox, IE, or Chrome, the HTML instructions for displaying background colors are not displayed. Likewise for text, except for links <a href=anything>. I get either black or white. I have installed the video driver that came with my monitor (Samsung SynchMaster 192N). Where could this be? The video card? The video driver? I'm baffled. -Bill |

In Firefox, click Tools, Options, Content, "Colors" button, and make sure "Allow pages to choose their own colors..." is checked. In IE, click Tools, Internet Options, General tab, Colors button, Windows Colors. -- Joe =o) |

I've done both of those things and neither program works. |

Here are a couple of other things to try: - Use System Restore to go back to a date when it worked properly. - Try lowering graphics hardware acceleration slide. You can lower graphics hardware acceleration in Display Properties, Settings tab, Advanced button, Troubleshooting tab. If this helps, you probably need a different graphics card or drivers. -- Joe =o) |
