Recover deleted item

I accidently right-clicked and deleted an excel file in windows. This does
not go to the recycle bin. Is there a way to recover the item?

Thanks

Re: Recover deleted item

From the backup you made, OR use 3rd party UNdelete software.

Right-click on it's own has never permanently deleted a file. You must have
done something else as well...

Somehow, you have set to send all Excel files not to the Recycle Bin.
Whenever you right-click / delete a file, it is supposed to go to the
Recycle Bin, by default.

On a different PC, you can search the Web for an undelete tool.

Check: http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Wouldn't be just Excel files - it would be ALL files. You can't set this
parameter by file types AFAIK...

How about this version?

I accidently right-clicked and SHIFT-deleted an excel file in windows.
This does not go to the recycle bin. Is there a way to recover the item?

Re: Recover deleted item

the file was probably too big for
the recycle bin.

what you might want to try is a
freeware called "recuva" to restore
files that are no longer indexed
in the master file table.

---------------------

incidentally, the less you utilize the
computer,

the better the chance that the pc
won't use the place where that
deleted file rests.
