Yes they can be deleted but you will loose the option of being able to uninstall them. My recommendation is to leave them alone unless you are critically short of hard drive space. chas2209 |

If a person is short on drive space, then deleting these uninstall folders would be pointless. On my system which came with XP Pro with SP 2 installed (it's now at SP3 with all updates), I've not deleted and of the directories as I would only gain about 640 MB. So in the long run if they need more disk space it would be better just to get a bigger drive. -- Roy Smith Windows XP Pro SP3 |

You can remove them, but in doing so you wouldn't be able to uninstall the associated update. If you're running low on disk space deleting the uninstall folders wouldn't gain you much space and you'd be back in the same position in a short time. The ideal solution would be to simply get a bigger drive. They aren't that expensive these days. About 9 months ago I bought a 500 GB drive for my laptop and it was only $145.00. Now I have more room than I know what to do with... :-) -- Roy Smith Windows XP Pro SP3 |
