| How do I remove games from XP Greetings The company has just bought me a new HP laptop with the upgrade from Vista to XP Pro SP3. I have removed the games link from the start menu but when I remove the individual games from Windows either HP or MS immediately re- install them. It is beyond our sys admin. How can I permanently delete them? Thanks Mi Taso |

I suspect that you upgraded from WinXP to Vista, in which case you should repost your question in a Vista forum. |

Hi, Mi Tasol To remove the Games on Windows XP, do this: - go to Start menu, Control Panel - in Control Panel, run "Add/Remove Programs" - in the Add/Remove applet, select "Add/Remove Windows Components" from the left-hand panel; - the Windows Component Wizard will be started; - select Accessories and Utilities in the list of Components; - press the Details button; - you will see 2 subcomponents listed: Accessories, and Games; - remove the check mark next to Games; - press OK to return to the Wizard front panel; - press Next; the games will be deleted; - exit from the Wizard and applet. Hope it helps, Andrew PS: Mi Tasol - yu save Tok Pisin? Wantok bilong me? -- amclar at optusnet dot com dot au |

Can't you trust _yourself_ not to run them? Are you desperate for space (in which case get a much bigger drive)? If having the icons in your face is the problem, delete them from your desktop. The programs will still be there, along with whatever scads of stuff your machine came with that you don't intend ever to use, but the route to them will be a lot less obvious. |
