| Boot message: Loading PBR for descriptors Win XP SP2. Dell XPS 710 Sata Swapped C drive for a backup drive with a fresh copy of the original, done with Casper 5. I receive the message: Loading PBR for descriptors...done swapped drives back to original, all is well. Bios identifies hard drives properly. Assistance woudl be appreciated. tia |

Did not install the original drive in hd1 slot. |

If new-XP sees old-XP, it won't reuse the original drive letter when it assigns a drive letter to itself. (Once XP-2 has booted and reallocated new drive letters, the old-XP partition can be reintroduced into the system, if desired.) I read many how-to articles and never found the second rule. Dell service nor Dell web searches - no second rule. Casper - no second rule. Microsoft - could not find second rule.
