Boot message: Loading PBR for descriptors

Win XP SP2. Dell XPS 710 Sata
Swapped C drive for a backup drive with a fresh copy of the original,
done with Casper 5.
I receive the message: Loading PBR for descriptors...done
swapped drives back to original, all is well. Bios identifies hard
drives properly.
Assistance woudl be appreciated. tia

Third time is a charm. I backed up the original drive to the new
backup drive and installed it in hd0 for the third time. Did not
install the original drive in hd1 slot.

Ahh, you have been breaking the second rule of cloning. That explains the
problem. Thanks for the feedback.

http://www.goodells.net/multiboot/partsigs.htm

"do not let new-XP see the old-XP partition the first time it boots.
If new-XP sees old-XP, it won't reuse the original drive letter when it
assigns a drive letter to itself. (Once XP-2 has booted and reallocated new
drive letters, the old-XP partition can be reintroduced into the system, if
desired.) "

I googled and never found the second rule.
I read many how-to articles and never found the second rule.
Dell service nor Dell web searches - no second rule.
Casper - no second rule.
Microsoft - could not find second rule.
Hard drive manufacturers - could not find second rule.
I skimmed Acronics and did not find the second rule.
I wish to thank y'all very, very much for the feedback.
Have a super day......Shelly
