If not,. Is there a current list of updates released since sp3?

Being the third such question in less than a month's time - I have to ask...
Why do you ask?

Windows XP has been superceded by two operating systems. I would not
*expect* another service pack for it. It might get a rollup at some point
(like Windows 2000 did.)

You could always download all of the updates for Windows XP. Windows
Updates Downloader is a third party tool that makes that simple. Installing
Windows XP with SP3 (maybe a VM) and then searching for and installing
updates via windowsupdate.microsoft.com could give you a fine list as well.
Doing either could allow you to integrate most of them into your
installation media.

You could also download the DVD ISO images for each month of updates since
SP3. Each individual month is a DVD.

I just got xp sp3 for my computer. Mainly because of Flash and Vista
or W7 wont work on this. xp sp3 barely does. Plus I may be getting
DSL or Cable modem and they require xp.

Each month microsoft issues a dvd iso image with update released since
the service pack? Where?

Visiting the Windows Update site would tell you which ones you don't
have.

Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find
information on problems you may be having and solutions others have found:

As I said - it contains all the updates released that month, each month.
You'd have to get quite a few DVD ISO images to catch up.

If you have the English version of Windows XP - I suggest the Windows Update
Downloader ( http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/ ) if you really need
the patches - although I still have not seen a reason for you to get them.

You can now just open up Internet Explorer, visit
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and do a custom scan for updates and
grab what you need (avoid the hardware drivers.)

They are going to have to release a final service pack 4 or 5. They
may wait tell 2013 or 2014. The reason, is so people can still
use the computer after supports end. It will most likely included a
patch that disables WGA and activation. However, I have a different
view of not upgrading to a new system. My view was to stay with
98se as long as possible before upgrading to xp. However, if you
have xp system. As soon as xp extended supports ends. I would
either put a Linux distro or upgrade to w7 or greater or put windows
98se on it. This is just my opinion. I think nt based system get
infected eaier that 9x systems do.

Neither Windows Vista nor Windows 7 will work on your computer? How do
you know? Why not? Is it a laptop? Is it greatly underpowered?

Did you not have those problems with SP2?

That's not at all correct. Both DSL and cable will work with Windows
Vista and Windows 7. If you've seen something in writing that says
that XP is required, it was undoubtedly published a while back; if it
was published before there was a Windows Vista or Windows 7, it
couldn't say that they would work with them.

You're going postal and raid their corporate office with a shotgun and
make a demand they create a service pack to roll together all updates
they ever released for every product for which they discontinued
support? Uh huh.

And where are all those roll-up service packs for every prior version
of Windows that Microsoft produced and then later discontinued support?
Your evidence is WHERE that Microsoft (or any other software vendor) has
done this for unsupported products? If it is unsupported then that
means there is no support (no manhours, no manpower, no resources are
allocated to the product anymore - unless, of course, you want to pay).

I didn't say Cable Dsl wouldn't work with W7 or Vista.

At least ATT requires xp or above, they wont order if you tell them
you have windows 98se. Even through a tech told me it would work.

Comcast Minimum requirement, Requires xp or above. At least I made
the minimum requirement with them.

Essentially - in order to use DSL or Cable Internet - you need a working
network connection on whatever computer you have.

In fact - next time tell them you will be running a home Internet NAT router
you purchase from a store - they don't need to know what operating system
you are running. The router will be the only device their network will have
to understand. ;-)

You could be running RedHat Linux, Ubuntu, Mac OS 8, Windows 95, etc. In
the end - it doesn't matter what OS you are using - they just won't be able
to help you connect to their network because their tech support won't have
the virtual machines/instructions available to read to you.

It is too early for a firm announcement of the Service Pack 4 release.

However, as of ~14Oct2009, the deadline for XP Service Pack 2 support was
extended ~3 months more, to 13 July 2010, so something is in the works.

You can check your SP4 folder in your registry for a list of those updates
that have been added to your computer, and check in at Windows Update for
any you don't have yet. (Start> Run> regedit> Edit> Find> SP4)

Start> Run> CMD
Copy next line and right-click> Paste into Command Prompt window:

That will put your System Info, with a list of Hot Fixes on your desktop.
(The systeminfo command may not be available in XP Home edition.)
