| Missing start menu and taskbar + windows button shortcuts is disab Hi there.. I've found he start menu and taskbar disappear when I'm logging in. I can use mouse & keyboard normally, but I have to use ctrl+alt+del ONLY to show task manager then browse and open the programs/files. It has no problem with all applications except windows button's shortcuts are disable (eg. windows+E, windows+R, windows+D, etc) and I'm unable to use desktop properties with all the way I knew. It happened all the times when log in into windows. It was happened first after I made a mistake deleting some strings in the registry editor/regedit. The worst things are no registry backup and I the forgot the specific string.. God! Is anyone know how to recover/rebuild the string or create new string whatever, or any other way just to show the start menu, taskbar and re-active the windows button without re-install the XP? |

For the first issue try running the edit on Kelly's site: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Line 117: Restore Taskbar and Start Menu See the top of the page for info on running the edit. -- Rock [MVP - User/Shell] |
