I was wondering is there a sidebar program that can be used in XP like there
is now in Vista?

Have you tried "desktop sidebar"? Google for it. I use it and like it.

I don't know what ms gadgets are, so I don't know if desktop sidebar
works with them. However, one can write new plugins for it, so maybe
someone has written a plugin that takes an ms gadget (or maybe they
have a plugin that does what the gadget you want does). Your best bet
is to read their web page.
