| My Document Folder has wrong association I have a peer to peer network set up in small office. Has worked fine for years. All computers running XP Professional. Recently installed new laptop computer to the network. I shared my "My Documents" folder on the LAPtop. I then accessed this folder from my DESKtop. Now when I go into my DESKtop and drill down to "c:\Documents and Settings\My User Name\" the My Documents folder is somehow pointed to the "my documents" on my LAPtop! The other icons in this directory work correctly i.e. "Desktop" points to the correct desktop. I have no idea how this mis-association happened or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated! Lyle |

| Re: My Document Folder has wrong association Hi, Click Start, Run and type: %userprofile%\My Documents And, then access the "My Documents" folder from Start menu. Does it lead to the same path as above? -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User] Windows® XP Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "L Brambier" <L Brambier@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0E12D987-3ABC-474D-88CB-5834DC36CFA3@microsoft.com... | Re: My Document Folder has wrong association Yes, those both go to the same place, the correct place. | Re: My Document Folder has wrong association I hope you tried the steps from your Desktop. >> My Documents folder is somehow pointed to the "my documents" on my LAPtop! If it's pointing to the "my documents" folder on the laptop, what's the path displayed in the address bar when you open the folder? Or perhaps you have synchronized content on both the systems? -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User] Windows® XP Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "L Brambier" <LBrambier@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:655402AA-8AF8-4ED6-B9B9-609C2F6E4385@microsoft.com...
