MS Excel has dissapeared from START menu?

This is weird. When I click on Start | Programs, the little "boxed X" icon
for Microsoft Excel is missing.

But now there is a shortcut on my desktop for Excel.

I had no reason to delete the icon nor any reason to place a shortcut on my
desktop but as I'm the only person that uses this PC, I plead guilty.

How can I get the icon back on the Start | Programs menu where it belongs?

Thanks!

Someone dragged it there by mistake. Now you can drag it back.
Right-click on the Start button and choose "Explore". Find your Start
Menu and right-click/drag/move the Excel shortcut to where you want it.

When you drag it back, hover over the Start button and it will open.
Continue hovering over All Programs, etc., till you reach where you want
to drop it.
