Hi Alexyy No version of Windows supports NIC teaming - that is, in terms of there being any built-in Operating System support for teaming. The network cards which can be teamed in Windows machines, implement the teaming and fail-over logic entirely in the vendor-supplied driver for the NIC. Most of the teaming NICs I've seen are intended for servers; eg Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. However the same drivers might also work on XP and Vista, respectively. Whether that is "supported" would be up to the supplier of the specific NICs you are using. Generally the NICs need to be specifically designed for teaming - you can't take 2 common-or-garden NICs, and team them. Neither the driver, or the OS, will support it. Hope this helps, Andrew -- amclar at optusnet dot com dot au |
