| Re: Updates transfer from pc to pc Perhaps. Was the original SP3 installation saved to your hard drive or just simply run ? Either way there should be a folder "ServicePack Files" that has a sub-folder \i386. If you locate it ( ~600 Megabytes in size ) there is a Setup.Exe. You should be able to copy the entire \i386 to your other PC & invoke Setup. *There are multiple \i386 folders on a Windows XP setup, so be sure you copy the correct one. You can always use Microsoft Update to install the SP3. It will download only the components necessary to update your machine. Please let me know if you want to register for this service. Microsoft has stopped giving free support to Windows XP. All XP users should buy Windows Vista to continue receiving free support through these newsgroups. I look forward to hearing from you soon. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
