If so then you must reboot your machine and immediately press the appropriate key in order to get into the BIOS setup, preferably several times. On old machines this used to be the Delete key. On newer machines it can be F12, F10 or perhaps some other function key. If you cannot find it then you must read the manual that came with your PC. Once you are in the BIOS setup, look for the menu that deals with the "Boot" process, then set things so that your CD drive is the primary boot device. |

Another option that has been very popular with some BIOS, is a Boot Menu. This is usually accessed instead of using the hotkey to invoke the BIOS Setup, use the hotkey (this is often the ESC key) to invoke the Boot Menu instead. In fact, on the Asus EeePC series, this is the only option to boot from an USB device (besides optical drives which can be set in the BIOS). This Gateway ('06 era) laptop also has a Boot Menu as well. -- Bill Gateway MX6124 - Windows XP SP2 |

It will tell you many good things and the boot arrangements are in section 2.6. Other languages are available - click the Download link, answer some questions... |
