| XP Pro SP3 hangs at "Windows is shutting down" Did a reformat and clean install of XP Pro SP3. While installing Sound Blaster Live software the system crashed. After reboot, everything worked except the system hung at Windows is shutting down. It continued to do the same thing every time. I decided to remove the Creative Sound Blaster software. No luck with Add/Remove , even in Safe Mode. System began crashing while doing this. Software has no uninstall function. Since I think the Sound Blaster software is responsible for the not shutting down and the crashing, is there a way it can be deleted using a CMD function in DOS? If so,how? -- frajul2 |

| RE: XP Pro SP3 hangs at "Windows is shutting down" The system crashes as soon as I get to the point of install. Some of the software has been loaded since I've tried it a few times. Even using Add/Remove the option is to finish the install, nothing to remove. The creative site was a waste of time. If there is a way to delete the files in Dos, what might that be? as it stands now, the computer is crashingon a consistant basis. I am using my backup computer to read and reply to this post. I would like a avoid doing another reformat and install. -- frajul2 "Andrew E." wrote: > Re-open the soundblaster software installation, the 1st menu gives you > the option to uninstall... > > "frajul2" wrote: > > > Did a reformat and clean install of XP Pro SP3.
