Remove unused disconnected drives I have a user who has mapped drives showing disconnected. They are disconnected, as she is no longer on the network. I had her try and disconnect the virtual drive letter, as she doesn't like looking at them. It wouldn't let her disconnect, and, it is still showing up in her "My computer". My question is how to delete the non-usable mapped drives. Is there something in the regestry? I had her do a net use */delete command at the command prompt, but, that didn't work. Thank you... Jim

Re: Remove unused disconnected drives Had the exact same problem. Turned out to be related to Symantec Antivirus, oddly enough. Link to solution: (just uninstall, reinstall) Disconnected network drive problem

Re: Remove unused disconnected drives 1.Click Start, point to Run, type regedit, and then click OK.2.In Registry Editor, locate the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\MountPoints2 3.Right-click the mapped drive that you want to remove. For example, right-click ##Server_Name#Share_Name, and then click Delete. JP

Re: Remove unused disconnected drives JPB's solution is in the link provided, but in the case I had, the registry fix was not permanent. I had to uninstall and reinstall Symantec Anti-virus 10 before it stopped creating those drives. There is a bug with the auto-update from Symantec that was causing this. The reinstall made it seem like a "full" install instead of an update from the server.
