I have a customer whose web browser showed no version or security
information. Upgrading to IE8 did not fix reinstalling SP3 did not fix
either!

So I did a repair install of XP home with SP3 now I get the error message
a problem has prevented windows from accurately checking the status of the
license for this computer..............Do you want to activate windows now
yes or no

if you say yes it hangs and does nothing say no and it logs you off!

I can get into safe mode but can't get the network to work! Oddly enough
one time when I logged off it installed 24 updates! So it can go out to the
internet just not when I am logged on!

Is the browser IE ; is it a pirate copy ?
