deleted My Docs by mistake

I was in My Computer and somehow deleted the My Documents entry under "Files
stored on This Computer". It doesn't seem that I've actually lost any files,
but the entry no longer appears. How can I get it back?

Also, can someone pls explain why "My Documents" seems to appear in so many
different places?

Thanks in advance.

Read the instructions at the top.

56. Remove Files Stored on this Computer Undo

Click on Undo.

shared.reg is the file that you want.

Re: deleted My Docs by mistake

Wesley, thank you very much for this. Unfortunately, it did not solve my
problem. But, I think I did not described the problem very well.

In My Computer, there were previously 3 entries under "Files Stored on This
Computer". The category "Files Stored on This Computer" still exists, but
there are only 2 entries. I would like to restore the one that's gone.

Previously, the entries were: "Shared Documents", "Jane's Documents" and
"My Documents." I did something that caused the entry for "My Documents" to
disappear, and I cannot retrieve it by dragging and dropping or any other
technique I have tried.

Please note the actual "My Documents" folder was not deleted from my hard
drive. It is still there, and all of its contents are still there, but the
entry in My Computer is gone.

Some digging around disclosed the following:

- The My Documents folder is in the root directory of drive c:
- The Shared Documents folder is in c:\documents and settings\all users
- The Jane's Documents folder is in c:\documents and settings\Jane

Running the shared.reg file from kellys korner did make a small change in
the registry, but it did not restore the "My Documents" folder to its proper
place in My Computer.

Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

Thankyou.

Boli
