| Re: windows xp dll problem It's likely an artifact of a Malware infection. A system call is being made to load the malware module. Two things are indications of this being Malware related - the name of the module and it's location. You can use SysInternals Autoruns to locate the call to the module. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx If you don't use Malwarebytes as a detect/removal tool you should consider installing and running on a regular basis. http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes...=dl&tag=button "steve h" <steveh@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:96973094-CFA5-4354-9780-5EE63865B69D@microsoft.com... > Hi > Can anyone help? | Re: windows xp dll problem Steve I agree with McCarty. Use Autoruns to remove the orphaned start-up entries To identify what loads when you boot use Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft). http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Autoruns.mspx With Autoruns you can uncheck an item, which disables it from starting,or you can right click an item and then delete it. If you uncheck you can recheck to re-enable the item. It is a much safer approach than editing the Registry and better than using msconfig.. Another useful feature of the programme is that you can right click an item and select Search Online to get information about the item selected. -- Hope this helps.
