WAV file difficulty

WinXP Media Center 2002 (SP2)
It's seen in Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types, that
WAV files are supposed to open with Windows Media Player (WMP). However,
when I click on a soundclip link at
http://www.ilovewavs.com/Effects/Birds/Birds.htm the resulting web page
commences playing the (presumably WAV) file via QuickTime instead of WMP.
Moreover, my right-clicking on the playing sound file page does not show a
menu having a choice for saving that particular file. How do I get web pages
to utilize WMP instead of QuickTime for playing WAV files? Once that is
accomplished, will it be possible for me to save those files (found on the
web) to my computer's HDD by right-clicking?

Open Quick Time Options
Find MIME Settings > Find and Uncheck Wav
