Command Ping is missing for XP

when I run cmd, and type ping, it seems to me that this command is missing
under XP, does anyone have any suggestions on how to load it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

How does it seem to you that ping is missing? Do you get some error
message?

My ping.exe is in the c:\windows\system32 folder and a few other
places. If you find it in there and can run it from there but not
someplace else, maybe c:\windows\system32 is not in your path (but
probably should be).

From your cmd prompt, type cd\ <enter>, then type dir ping.exe /s
<enter> and see if it is on your system at all.

If it is not in c:\windows\system32 copy it from one of the places it
is and try again.

See what you can find out and report back if you need more help.

Open a Command Prompt and type this command, then report what you see:

%SystemRoot%\system32\ping www.google.com

If you still think that the command is missing then you can get it from the
following places:
- c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i385
- C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$
- X:\i386 (where X: is the drive for your WinXP installation CD)
If you use the CD then you must expand the file before using it.
