power options related

restoring the pc from stand-by mode will invariably (twice as yet) cause the
system stability issue. specifically, task manager will not open on
cntrl+alt+delete command, the pc will not restart nor shut down, only reset
button will resolve this.
moreover, the Lan light in router device will be off, whereas power light
and data light and ADSL light will be operating properly. only reset will fix
this. one would reckon hibernate mode will be as bad as that. what accounts
for this? is there any setting that will work with this?
this is for windows xp professional, no other issues or technical problems
along with this. in any case, this pc supports these power options

Re: power options related

Couple of issues at work here. If the system is allowed to turn devices
off to save power, then you lose your connections. (you can change that
in device manager for the hardware in its properties, power management
tab) The other issue can be that the driver for your device can't handle
standby/restore transitions. In that case you need a updated drive
from the hardware manufacturer. (Try their web site)
