| Download speed less than Upload speed I have been facing this problem from quite some time. I don't know why my download speed which is 2mbps is coming down to 407kbps and upload speed going up to 620kbps. I was using Zone Alarm but this reduced my download speed to less than 256kbps but upload remains the same. So I uninstalled it and right now I am just using Windows firewall. With Windows Firewall I am getting the above said speeds that is 407kpbs. Since my upload speed is working fine then I wonder what is the problem with the download speed. These values are based on www.dslreports.com and it is here where I tested my speed. I have Windows XP Mediacenter, AVG antivirus and I am using Windows Firewall. |

| Re: Download speed less than Upload speed Along with DSLReports, I'd test again using: http://www.internetfrog.com/mypc/speedtest/ *Don't laugh at the name, it presents the data very nicely "Sam" <djdansays******.com> wrote in message news:1168450172.287994.209970@77g2000hsv.googlegro ups.com... >I have been facing this problem from quite some time. To be honest, those speeds are nothing to worry about. Could be a server side limitation. See what happens if you download mutliple DVD images at once. (Linux live cds are good for this purpose). Still... if you noticed a significant reduction in download speed, It is possible you've been hijacked. There is a subtle one where they change your DNS server on you, and nothing else. |
