Re: msie 6

No, you didn't violate any rules. The 'no coincidence' was a randomized
automated response, and not specific to yourself. Apologies if it caused you
any offence.

You did not violate any rules nor did Jon suggest that you had.
The "coincidence" is just part of his "Introduction Phrase" that you can
set when you use a real newsreader. He gave you links to the life cycle
websites which should answer your questions.

the best of my ability but when I receive a response in my hotmail account
and ckick on it, I am directed here but cannot find the response.
Thank you.

Once you know you've received a reply, then if you press ctrl-H within
Outlook Express (after downloading the latest headers), then you can view
replies to your messages (ctrl-H again to revert).

Re: msie 6

I must have some aspect of O.X. not configured properly. I clicked on ctrl h
and everything disappeared. What do I set so I can download the latest
headers. Should I have 'only new messages' checked?
Btw, I appreciate your patience as I have had success with most aspects of
my machine but am having difficulty with O.X. in spite of all the helps +
faqs I've read.
When you respond to this I will have to search for it through all the
threads. Perhaps you could reply to llewon********.com until I resolve this.
Thank you for sticking with me.

Re: msie 6

[Also sent to your hotmail address at approx. the same time]

'Only new messages' should be fine.

To download the latest headers, you can click on 'Get next headers' on the
top toolbar.

Could be your 'View' setting

View > Current View > Show All Messages (when in the relevant newsgroup)

If not, then there's also a dedicated OE group, where you may also pick up a
useful suggestion
