| Re: Same update keeps installing. The advice on restarting in safe mode (press8 on start up) works and I thank you. I had to down load the KB967715 onto my desk top and then install when back in safe mode. Then go back to to get back into normal mode by rebooting again and clicked the sheild icon to get rid of it forever. I had to go through the extra bit because my internet would not work in safe mode even though I selected it. | Re: Same update keeps installing. Trevor, What you can do is click the shield, click custom, untick the box, close it which will prompt you with a message are you sure you want to hide it... If you have no luck there, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com, let it find the update for you, untick the install & when it expands tick the box not to show again If it still keeps coming back then go into services (START | RUN | type: SERVICES.MSC & press ENTER), stop the AUTOMATIC UPDATE & BACKGROUND INTELLIGENT TRANSFER SERVICES services, delete the SoftwareDistribution folder from the Windows directory (Ex. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution) then start AUTOMATIC UPDATES service first then start the BACKGROUND INTELLIGENT TRANSFER SERVICE & then use the 2 previous steps (unric box in Automatic Updates...) to block that update again & it should work -- SPAMCOP User "Trev Moore" <Trev Moore@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7066B740-37E3-4342-B083-DD2B5CA568B9@microsoft.com... > The advice on restarting in safe mode (press8 on start up) works and I > thank > you. | Re: Same update keeps installing. Hello, It's Trev Moore again. Safe mode did work ok and it's still ok now so my initial advice stands for continuous KB967715 updating problem.
