How do I remove a GPT Protective Partition from a hard drive?

The hard drive is question is a blank drive out of a 2003 server. I have
repurposed this drive to go into a windows XP Pro sp2 box that needs the space.
I can not remove this partition in windows XP nor windows 2003 server.

How the heck do I wipe this drive so I can set it up as a basic disk with ntfs?

Simply install xp cd,boot to xp cd,recovery,select 1 For C: (OS),Press enter
key for password, then type:DiskPart In DiskPart, all partitions & volumes are
shown,delete the unwanted partition(s),create one,then press ESC key.If you
want it formated,then type:FORMAT D: /FS:ntfs D: being the new partition,
when its thru type:EXIT

Ignore Andy E, He is a troll.

Anyway:
dban.sourceforge.net

This utility, however cannot (as of the last revision) wipe the Host
Protected area. Since there is rarely anything there.... it's not a big
issue.

This utility does have the capability of reverting the drive to the
factory configuration.

Grab Knoppix from http://www.knoppix.net/ (it's free). Open a Konsole and
type sudo -s to get root. Type cfdisk /dev/hda to repartition the first
hard drive on the first PATA channel. If this is not the correct device,
you'll need to change /dev/hda to the appropriate device; see
http://www.debian.org/releases/stabl...apbs04.html.en

"Andy E." was NOT a troll. He was the only poster who had CORRECT information. Don't post unless you know what you're talking about.
